Betty White received a standing ovation when she made a surprise appearance at the Emmys on Monday. The 96-year-old actress was honoured at the ceremony for her seven-decades-long career, and during her speech, Betty melted hearts as she joked about being the first lady of television. "It's incredible that I'm still in this business and you are still putting up with me," she said. "I wish they did that at home . . . It's such a blessed business to be in." Betty is one of the oldest winners in Emmys history; she has been nominated 24 times and has won eight.
