We never knew how badly we needed a friendship between Beyoncé and Meghan Markle until now. In case you missed it, Beyoncé and JAY-Z were honoured at the Brit Awards on Wednesday, winning best international group for their collaborative work as The Carters. In a video of their acceptance speech, Bey and JAY gave a nod to the Duchess of Sussex as they stood in front of a "Mona Lisa"-esque portrait of her. But their shout-out to the pregnant royal didn't end there. On Feb. 20, Beyoncé also shared a heartfelt message about Meghan on her personal website.

The entry first outlines a few of Meghan's charitable efforts and philanthropic deeds. "Meghan's background as a film and tv actress has allowed her to use her platform for good. Meghan's charitable work in communities of color began years before becoming the Duchess of Sussex," the note reads. "As a global ambassador for World Vision, she travelled to Rwanda to see how access to clean, safe water impacts children, an issue that is near and dear to our hearts. She also visited and supported the Myna Mahila Foundation in Mumbai, an organisation that helps solve the menstruation challenges many women and girls in the community face."

The message goes on to describe the significance of Meghan's marriage to Prince Harry, saying, "She became the Duchess of Sussex following her marriage to Prince Harry of the British royal family in May 2018, becoming one of the few Black women to join a royal family."

It also details a few of the ways Meghan incorporated her identity and background into the ceremony, which included having a Chicago-based black pastor, a gospel choir, and a young black cellist. "At the wedding her culture was front and centre," the tribute says. "And she and Prince Harry have continued to push the race relations dialogue forward both near and far." The memo then ended on a celebratory note, saying, "In honour of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy."

People have been freaking out over this burgeoning friendship between Beyoncé and Meghan. We're anxiously awaiting the moment they finally meet and we get a snapshot of the two queens hanging out together, because it's going to happen. (IT HAS TO.) Until then, view Bey and JAY's acceptance video and photos ahead!
