The Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip has been admitted to hospital with a chest infection.
The 86-year-old was admitted yesterday afternoon after suffering with a heavy cold.
Just last week he had been out on public duties (pictured here), entertaining the French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.
Buckingham Palace said he was able to walk into the building, and he's been making phone calls and working on correspondence from his hospital bed.
A spokeswoman for Buckingham Palace said:
"The Duke of Edinburgh has been admitted to King Edward VII Hospital (in central London) for assessment and treatment for a chest infection."
The Queen has remained at Windsor Castle, where they spent the Easter break. It is not clear whether members of the Royal Family will visit him in hospital.
It is not yet known how long he will need to stay in hospital for. All his official engagements have been cancelled for the weekend.
Get well soon Prince Philip.
