If you looked up friendship goals in the dictionary, chances are you would probably find an adorable photo of Busy Philipps and Michelle Williams [1] holding hands on the red carpet [2]. The actresses first met on the set of Dawson's Creek [3] more than 15 years ago [4], and their friendship has only grown stronger since [5]. In fact, the two were practically destined to be friends before they even met. We recently had a chance to chat with Busy for her partnership with Godiva Masterpieces, and she gushed about how their epic friendship came to be.
Before even stepping foot on set, a mutual friend had already told Busy that she was going to become best friends with Michelle. "We were already set up to fall in love," she joked. And when they actually met in person, that's exactly what happened. "Michelle is kind of an easy person to fall in love with, and anyone who knows her will tell you that, but we just really genuinely have a lot in common. At the core, we have been so close for so many years for a reason, which is the same reason why anyone is close with anyone else, because we have a very a commonality and a shared sensibility and we just love each other."
While there are a million reasons we love their friendship, for Busy it's actually pretty simple: she just loves how they're always there for each other. "She's been there for me and I've been there for her," she added. "And she gives the best advice and makes me feel better about things, and I hope I do the same for her." Ugh, we're forever in love with these two.
