5. Jack Frost

There's no way you don't want to see a movie about a serial killer who gets in a freak accident that results in his body fusing with snow. He becomes a killer snowman! He also rapes a girl, which makes this 1997 flick the most twisted movie on the list. In case you're wondering, there's a sequel: Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman.

6. Edward Scissorhands

Edward Scissorhands is great year-round, but it's particularly relevant around Halloween and Christmas. A chunk of the movie takes place during the holiday season, when Edward (Johnny Depp) creates a giant ice sculpture of Kim (Winona Ryder). And yes, this movie is scary, OK?

7. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Tim Burton's festive classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas, also isn't a traditional horror movie, but it does have lots of scary elements — like basically everything in Halloween Town. The best part? It's on Netflix!

8. Silent Night, Deadly Night

This 1984 slasher film has spawned four sequels, and it's the inspiration for 2012's Silent Night, mentioned above. The movie features a young boy whose parents are murdered by a man in a Santa suit. The trauma changes him forever, and when he grows up, he goes on a killing spree of his own.

What do you mean you don't even remember seeing commercials for this 2015 horror movie? Well, it's on demand now, so settle in for a night of William Shatner as a DJ host whose broadcast strings together four different nightmarish stories. Krampus makes an appearance in this one, too!

10. Silent Night, Bloody Night

11. Black Christmas

Whether you get the 2006 version (pictured) or the 1974 original, you're in for a good time with Black Christmas. 12. Christmas Evil

This 1980 slasher movie has earned a cult following in the decades since its release. When young Harry (Brandon Maggart) sees Santa touching his mum on Christmas Eve, he's scarred for life. (Don't worry, it's just his dad dressed up as Santa . . . but Harry doesn't know that.) He grows up, has a mental breakdown, and convinces himself that he's the real Santa — and the people on his "naughty" list need to be punished.

13. Gremlins

Gremlins (1984) may not be your typical holiday horror story, but Billy (Zach Galligan) does receive his new pet as a Christmas present. It's only later, when Billy stops following the three rules that Gizmo came with, that things start to get scary.
