Demi Lovato Is "Awake and With Her Family" After Being Hospitalised For Drug Overdose

This story has been updated with the most current information available.

Demi Lovato was hospitalised after a drug overdose on Tuesday, law enforcement told TMZ. The outlet first reported that Demi was taken to an LA hospital and was being treated after she was found unconscious at her home. TMZ also reported it was for a heroin overdose, but has since retracted that statement. LAPD officer Ray Brown told Us Weekly that "authorities responded to her home in Hollywood at 11:37 a.m. local time." Paramedics reportedly found Demi unconscious when they arrived. Law enforcement sources also confirmed to TMZ that Demi was treated with Narcan, an emergency treatment for drug overdoses, by friends.

Since the news broke, Demi's rep has released a statement to E! News about her current condition. "Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now."

The 25-year-old singer was out celebrating a friend's birthday in West Hollywood on Monday night, and the party reportedly continued at her home with friends. In fact, it was the unidentified friends who administered the Narcan to Demi when she was unconscious, Us Weekly reports. "One of her friends had Narcan on hand in case something like this happened," the publication said. "Her friends knew this was coming because she's been using so much again. They were up all night partying the night before at her house."
