Dove Cameron Gushes Over Boyfriend Thomas Doherty: "He Is My World"
Love is in the air for Dove Cameron and Thomas Doherty! Dove opened up about their relationship in a new interview with Seventeen magazine, and her touching quotes about her 24-year-old beau are enough to warm your heart right up. The 23-year-old actress talked about how quickly she formed a connection with Thomas after she broke off her engagement to former Liv & Maddie cast member Ryan McCartan in 2016. "My relationship with Thomas has been different than anything I've ever experienced with another human right from the very start," she said. "I know this is cheesy, but honestly, right from the moment we met, it felt like the earth moved, for both of us."
Things between the stars — who met on the set of Disney's Descendants 2 — have moved relatively quickly. Not only did they get matching tattoos two weeks after knowing each other, but it also didn't take long for Thomas to say the "L" word. "He told me he loved me within a week of meeting me, and has never taken a step back from that statement," Dove said. "He's a pure soul. A well-intended, completely innocent source of care and generosity, humility and never-ending patience. I've never experienced an equality like we have, a real admission of who and what we are together and the guttural knowing that this is right."
Dove then went on to describe how Thomas continues to support her through ups and downs, something that's surely been helpful as she grieves the loss of friend and Descendants costar Cameron Boyce. "Thomas has been my rock," she added. "Every thought or feeling I have, no matter how strange or dark or heavy, he is a safe space for me, a never-ending well of patience and generosity. He is my world."
