When a Stranger Assumed Drew Barrymore Was Pregnant, Her Response Was So F*cking Perfect

Drew Barrymore's sharp wit and pitch-perfect delivery aren't just reserved for her on-camera work. The actress has just as impeccable comedic timing in real life, too, as evidenced by her response to a stranger who assumed she was pregnant.

When Drew – who weighed 145 pounds and admitted to having a life that was "kind of falling apart" when she first started filming Netflix's Santa Clarita Diet – was leaving a restaurant with several of her "mom friends" and their children, a random woman approached her.

"She's like, 'God, you have so many kids,' and I go, 'Well not all of them are mine, I just have two,'" Drew told James Corden on his late-night talk show Wednesday night. "And she's like, 'Well, and you're expecting, obviously.' And I literally looked at her and I go, 'No, I'm just fat right now.'"

Boom!

Whereas most of us might've stumbled through a passive-aggressive response or just cut and run, Drew used her fast-thinking, self-deprecating humor to put the person rightfully in her place.

But just like it would have with the rest of the female population, the comment stung. Drew walked out of the restaurant, and, "I'm not going to lie, I was like, 'Oh, man, that's rough.'"

With some time, though, she came to her senses and took control of the situation: "I was, like, 'I'll just tell this story and make fun of myself,' but she's a bitch."

And you, Drew? You are a delight.
