Gary Sinise Charity Work Tribute Video February 2019

Forrest Gump Star Gary Sinise Receives a Tear-Jerking Tribute For His Military Charity Work

Over the past couple of decades, Forrest Gump star Gary Sinise has devoted much of his time to giving back to veterans and first responders through his charity the Gary Sinise Foundation. On Feb. 12, his efforts were recognised. In a tribute video, many of the people whose lives he touched appeared on camera to sing his praises and thank him for all the work he's done to help cultivate a better world for them.

A few notable faces also shared kind words about Gary, including Gen. Colin Powell, Jay Leno, Ron Howard, Robert De Niro, Tim Allen, and Forrest Gump costar Tom Hanks. "Thank you for all the things you have done for our men and women who have served our nation," Colin said. "Not only what you've done for them but for their children, what you've done for their families, what you've done to help them rebuild their lives."

Gary shared the video on his own Facebook page, adding, "Completely shocked and speechless by this surprise video. Incredibly touched and grateful by everyone's support." The 63-year-old actor and advocate has raised around $30 million annually for veterans, constructed 54 smart homes for the wounded, and financed over 400 concerts to benefit veterans and their families. It's no wonder some of the country's heroes and biggest stars had such great things to say about him. Be sure to watch the full tribute in the video above!
