George Clooney Talks Baby Archie on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

George Clooney Shares His Thoughts on Baby Archie's Name, and Oh, He's Got Jokes

By now, George Clooney has made it clear that he is not going to be the godfather to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's newborn son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, but we had yet to hear his thoughts on the little one's name — that is, until now. George and his wife, Amal, are close friends with the Duchess of Sussex (they were present at the royal wedding and Amal attended Meghan's baby shower back in February), and during his recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the actor was asked to share his thoughts on baby Archie's name.

After joking that Archie stole his thunder by being born on his birthday (May 6), George added, "It's a good name. It's better than Jughead, too." Meghan and Harry announced their son's name on Thursday after the tiny tot made his first royal appearance at Windsor Castle. Archie and Jughead are both characters on Riverdale, so it's no surprise that fans were thrilled when the announcement was made. Now only one question remains: who will be baby Archie's godparents? Fast forward to the 2:26 mark to see what else George had to say!
