When Gwyneth Paltrow [3] and Chris Martin [4] "consciously uncoupled" after 10 years of marriage in 2014, they vowed to stay in each other's lives, no matter what — and that policy has extended to their respective significant others. After hitting the red carpet for the premiere of Avengers: Endgame [5] in LA on Monday, Gwyneth mingled with her celebrity pals at Derek Blasberg's 37th birthday party. The writer shared snaps on Instagram of himself with Gwyneth and actress Dakota Johnson [6], who has been dating Chris Martin since late 2017 [7]; in the photos, captioned "Consciously throupling," Gwyneth has her arm around the Fifty Shades Freed star as they smile and giggle.
It shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that Gwyneth would embrace the 29-year-old daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. In January, Us Weekly reported that the Oscar winner "is happy if Chris is happy [9], only wants the best for him, and doesn't scrutinise his choices or who he dates." Gwyneth and Chris, who share daughter Apple and son Moses, have kept close even as they've entered other relationships. They've spent holidays and birthdays together [10], and after Gwyneth married producer Brad Falchuk in September 2018, they took a family honeymoon [11] with Chris and their kids. "We just wanted to minimise the pain for the kids, and they just want to see their parents around the dinner table," Gwyneth has said of their co-parenting style [12].
