Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini have been friends forever, but we're just finding out that we actually have Jennifer's ex Marc Anthony to thank for introducing them back in the day. While recently promoting their upcoming movie together, Second Act, Leah opened up about how their adorable friendship began, and the hilarious conversation that ensued on that fateful night. "I was friends with Marc Anthony, and then he started dating Jennifer," she told Entertainment Tonight, explaining that Marc was dying to introduce Jennifer to Leah and her husband, Angelo Pagán, at one of Marc's movie premieres.
"So we went to the premiere hoping she was gonna be ugly in real life, and then when I was approaching her, I was like, 'I hope it's the lighting. Maybe she just looks good in here,' and as I got closer I was like, 'Oh damn, there's a lot of light right here and she looks really pretty,'" Leah recalled.
Yep, that's J Lo for ya! Bad lighting, good lighting, no lighting, she's stunning. But Leah didn't give up hope, she still looked for a flaw. "I said, 'Goddammit, why the f*ck why are you so f*cking pretty?' And she laughed," Leah joked. "I was like, 'Ugh, I hope she's dumb,' ya know? I was like, 'She could be dumb!' I wanted to find something and I didn't." Jennifer added, "And we fell in love right there."
Jennifer and Leah play best friends in Second Act, and surprisingly, it's the first time they've worked together on a movie. "It was one of those instant chemistry things, where you just feel like, 'I love this person. I love being around this person. This person makes me laugh,'" Jennifer said about their friendship. "She's cool and we also have very similar upbringings. That's why we work well together." Leah is even the godmother to Jennifer's 10-year-old twins Max and Emme.
