If you're utterly perplexed by Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's engagement, you're not the only one — their relationship timeline is so wild that we've gotten whiplash just trying to keep track of their dating status. Though Justin and Hailey first sparked dating rumours back in 2014 after one of the (many) times Justin and Selena Gomez called it quits, Justin has been linked on-and-off-again to both ladies over the past four years. But apparently, Justin has finally made the decision to make one less lonely girl of Hailey. Can we pause and replay their relationship, please?
In late 2014, Justin posted his first picture with Hailey on Instagram, and even while he vehemently denied that the two were an item, he continued to post pictures of him and Hailey — ringing in 2015 together and growing closer throughout the Fall and Summer — until finally Hailey joined Justin on a family holiday, and the racy pics that followed changed their relationship status from complicated to undeniable.
Once the two were Instagram official, Justin began to open up about his relationship with Hailey, and even hinted at the possibility of seeing himself marrying her in a February 2016 interview with GQ. But just a few weeks later, after telling E! News that the two weren't an official couple, Hailey seemed to deem her and Justin's relationship over just as it was finally getting started.
Selena and Justin started to rekindle their romance in late 2017, and by February of 2018, they were spotted cuddling in public and taking vacations together, making us believe Jelena was back and better than ever. But then, suddenly, Selena was out of the picture again, and Justin was instead spotted with old flame Hailey in Miami in June 2018. After popping up in several cities looking cute together, as well as on each other's Instagram stories, their reunion was confirmed, and now — a month later — Justin has apparently asked Hailey to take their relationship to the next level: the alter.
All in all, as the two purportedly dated from December of 2014 through February of 2016, and then again from June of 2018 through July of 2018, we estimate the two have been an item for an approximate total of fourteen months. It's not quite as quick as Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, but don't forget, Jelena fans — Justin called this engagement over two years ago. When you know, you know!
