There is another suspenseful TV drama to get obsessed with when Doctor Foster isn't on your screen, and that's ITV's new drama Liar. Downton Abbey star Joanne Froggatt will return to your TV screens alongside Ioan Gruffudd for the new six-part drama series.
Liar was created and written by BAFTA and Golden Globe-nominated producers and screenwriters Harry and Jack William, the minds behind The Missing and Rellik. The show follows Laura Newell (Joanne Froggatt), a teacher who's recently back in the dating scene, and Andrew Ellis (Ioan Gruffudd), a surgeon who has a son at Laura's school. They go out on a date, and things start to take a dramatic turn, resulting in an alleged rape. Viewers will apparently be torn each week as to who is telling the truth about that night, as the show follows perspectives from both characters.
According to ITV: "Truth and consequences go hand in hand in a tense and gripping thriller that examines both sides of a relationship and both sides of the truth. Are there really two sides to every story?"
Get ready for some lying, deceit, and a whole lot of drama starting 11 Sept. on ITV at 9 p.m.
