Kanye West Recalls the Emotional Moment With Daughter North That Brought Him to Tears

11/08/2018 - 05:30 PM

Regardless of how you feel about Kanye West [1] at the moment, no one can deny that his relationship with his children [2] is pretty sweet. The rapper, who recently appeared on the cover of Harper's Bazaar [3] with 5-year-old North and 2-year-old Saint, stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday where he recalled a particularly adorable interaction with his eldest daughter while she was attending a fashion Summer camp.

"Together we put the thread through the sewing machine, and it really brought me to tears to think about," he said, going on to describe the billion-dollar companies that he and designer Virgil Abloh have since gone on to build. "My daughter asked me, 'Daddy, do you have a sewing machine like this at your office?' And I brought her to my office and she did a bunch of sketches, and my head pattern cutter made her dresses right there for her."

Jimmy also asked Kanye about lyrics from his song "Violent Crimes," off of his latest album, Ye [4], which are about a father "getting worked up about" men objectifying his daughter later in life. After telling the late-night host that he thinks "lifetimes and lifetimes ahead" when it comes to his daughter, he also made a very interesting confession about how his attitude hasn't changed toward women since having two little girls [5]. (Skip ahead to the 1:55 mark to hear his response, you won't regret it.) (OK, maybe you'll regret it a little.) (JUST WATCH IT!)
