02/05/2019 - 06:00 PM

The Duchess of Cambridge is back to royal duties following Easter break spent with her three children [1], and it's for a charity very close to her heart. The duchess visited the AFNCCF [2] (Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families) a "children's mental health charity delivering and developing pioneering care," where she is royal patron [3]. She opened the new Kantor Centre of Excellence and delivered a heartwarming speech about the mental health of children. Kate spoke about the cause as something she really does care about and explained that she has learned so much about "early childhood development," describing the new centre as "hugely inspiring." The Duchess of Cambridge looked incredibly relaxed [4] and was mingling with supporters and people who have received support from the centre.

The visit comes just after Kate was made a Dame Grand Cross is the Royal Victorian Order [5], awarded by the queen on William and Kate's eighth wedding anniversary. It is a very special honour and is a public way of recognising how Kate has supported the Queen through her work as a senior royal. Keep reading to see more photos from Kate's visit to the centre.
