Kate Middleton may be a duchess, but that doesn't mean she's immune from some of life's little annoyances, like, say, getting your high heel stuck in a grate. While opening an Action on Addiction community treatment centre on Wednesday in Wickford, Kate — clad in a royal blue coat — was making her way to greet a group of waiting staff members and healthcare professionals when the heel of her black suede shoe got caught in a small grate; like a true professional, the pregnant duchess pulled it out and carried on her with her royal duties. Inside, she was all smiles while sitting on a round-table discussion with clients at different points in their recovery.
Action on Addiction is just one of the many charities that Kate is patron of. According to its chief executive, Nick Barton, Kate chose it "because she had realised that with many problems faced by young people, the trail always led back to addiction of some sort."
