The Duchess of Cambridge is getting back into the swing of things after the royal holiday celebrations [1] with her first official royal engagement of the year, and as you'd expect, it's a cute one!
On Jan. 15, the duchess spent the morning at King Henry's Walk Community Garden [2] in Islington, London, where she spoke to volunteers about the impact of gardening and homegrown food. The duchess, who was dressed in a very appropriate army green outfit [3], excitedly chatted with children from Islington Primary school about pizza, birdwatching, and learning outdoors. Kate might also have been getting some gardening tips during her visit, as Kensington Palace announced she will be codesigning the RHS Garden for the Chelsea Flower Show later this year.
In a press release, the palace said [4], "the garden will build on Her Royal Highness's passion for the outdoors and the proven benefits that nature has on physical and mental health — The Duchess is a strong advocate for the positive impact that nature and the environment can have on childhood development."
