Kerry Katona Gives Birth Five Weeks Early

On Friday evening Kerry Katona gave birth to a baby boy five weeks early.

Kerry and her husband Mark Croft have named him Maxwell, after publicist Max Clifford.

Maxwell weighed 5lbs 4oz and was born at a hospital in Macclesfield, Cheshire.

Kerry went into labour on Wednesday. Doctors gave her medication to try to stop the contractions, but on Friday lunchtime they decided to induce labour.

There were concerns during Kerry's pregnancy that she was suffering from pre-eclampsia, but fortunately it turned out to be low iron levels.

Kerry's spokesperson said:

"Mummy and baby are doing well and the family are very excited about their latest addition.

"Kerry would like to thank all the staff at the Macclesfield District General hospital for the fantastic care she received.

"[Max]'s absolutely fine, he's beautiful."

MTV have a video from the delivery room, showing Kerry having contractions and then holding her new son.

Congratulations to the growing family!
