Kim Kardashian's Most "Liked" Photo on Instagram

Kim and Kanye Photoshopped Their Wedding Pic For Instagram, and It Paid Off

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's wedding will go down in the history books as spawning the most "liked" Instagram photo of all time. Kim's shot of the couple sharing their first kiss has amassed over 2.2 million "likes." The snap easily dethroned Justin Bieber as the king of Instagram, as he previously held the title of the most "liked" photo for a snap he shared of himself and on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez during one of their on-again periods. However, Justin can rest easy, as he already secured the honor of having the most "liked" Instagram photo of 2013 after he shared a snap of himself with Will Smith last year. That photo "only" amassed 1.5 million "likes."

During an appearance at the Cannes Lions advertising conference, Kanye revealed that he and Kim "worked on" their now record-breaking photo for four days before they felt it was "good enough for Instagram." He explained, "This is pissing my girl off during the honeymoon. Annie Leibovitz pulled out right before the wedding — maybe she was scared about the idea of celebrity . . . But I still wanted my wedding photos to look like Annie Leibovitz. Now, can you imagine telling someone who just wants to Instagram a photo, the No. 1 person on Instagram, that we need to work on the color of the flowered wall? But the fact that the No. 1 most 'liked' photo has this certain aesthetic on it was a win for what the mission is — of raising the palette." Say what you will about Kanye's over-the-top statements, but clearly he knew what he was doing with this one.
