Let It Shine Opening Musical Number Video

We're Still Not Over That Bonkers Opening Number From Let It Shine

When we heard that Gary Barlow was fronting a new BBC talent show, we were pretty excited. We know from his time on The X Factor that Gary pulls no punches with his critique, meaning the hopefuls would have to be pretty talented to make it through the rounds. Add to that the fact he has a very personal reason for this show — the eventual winners will star in his musical set to the music of Take That — and we knew we were in for something special.

What we didn't expect was a high-octane opening number than lasted over four minutes, featured multiple set changes, guest appearances from the show's presenters Graham Norton and Mel Giedroyc, and a naked Gary Barlow. Yep, you heard us. The musical set piece pokes fun at TV talent shows with witty lyrics that give us a taster of what Gary's musical is likely to be like. It's absolutely bonkers, and we can't stop watching it. Whoever green lit this, we salute them!
