Madonna Channels Her Inner Goth Prom Queen at the Met Gala

At the Met Gala on Monday night, it seemed like the event's lucky guests interpreted the theme in one of three ways: bright colours and shades of gold, pure white, or all-black everything. Madonna opted for the latter, arriving on the red carpet in a voluminous black gown that was the perfect blend of high fashion and goth prom queen (translation: she might cast a spell on you if you step on her train, but at least it'll be with a designer spell book). She topped off the daring look with a bouquet of black roses, a fishnet veil, and a glittering white and gold crown decked out with numerous crosses to keep with the night's official theme: "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination."
