Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Mother's Day Message 2019

Meghan Markle Celebrates Her First Mother's Day With an Adorable New Photo of Baby Archie

Meghan Markle, 37, is celebrating her first Mother's Day since giving birth to son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor! On Sunday, she and Prince Harry, 34, posted an adorable new photo of baby Archie's teeny-tiny foot being softly cradled by Meghan's hand. "Paying tribute to all mothers today - past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered," the royal duo captioned the heartwarming snap. "We honour and celebrate each and every one of you."

The Mother's Day post also features a special poem from writer Nayyirah Waheed. Of course, this is a sweet reminder of how Meghan nurtured Archie for nine months in her belly, but perhaps it also has something to do with questions surrounding the baby's citizenship. With some wondering if he will be considered British or American, maybe the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to show that his identity goes beyond his country of origin. For now, they just want to celebrate the royal nugget for who he is: their son.

Meghan and Harry welcomed Archie on May 6. Shortly after, the first-time parents opened up about their new bundle of joy during a press appearance. "It's magic, it's pretty amazing," Meghan said. "I have the two best guys in the world, so I'm really happy. He has the sweetest temperament, he's really calm and he's just been a dream, so it's been a special couple days." No wonder Archie looks so relaxed with his cute little legs crossed! Happy Mother's Day, duchess!
