Meghan Markle Served Up Avocado Toast on Silver Plates, and People Are Losing It
Though she may have left her blogging days behind her since becoming the Duchess of Sussex, it seems that Meghan Markle is still living up to the hosting tips she shared online a few years ago. On Sunday, Meghan's friend makeup artist Daniel Martin posted a picture to his Instagram that showed the spread that Meghan served up while he was visiting her in London, allegedly at Kensington Palace. It included tea, chocolate truffles (thought to be Fortnum and Mason Sandringham Coffee truffles), and two portions of avocado toast on silver plates. He captioned the photo, "Back to our Tig days . . ." in reference to Meghan's now-defunct lifestyle blog, and it's true that in 2014, Meghan wrote a missive on her love of avocado toast. It seems she's lost none of her love for the healthy snack in the interceding years.
Of course, people have had a lot to say about this royal flat lay. Some recommended their own recipes, ("salt, pepper, citrus. Magic!") while others tried to identify the china in order to confirm the location. Most people were simply wondering if Daniel's "Thank you Meghan" comments mean that the duchess still keeps her own secret Instagram account for following friends? After all, we all know how hard it is to quit social media, and Meghan was clearly an active user who even used Instagram to chat to fans. Whether or not that's true, we loved getting this rare peek behind the royal curtain. Now who fancies a truffle?
