Meghan Markle's Visit to Fiji Market

Meghan Markle's Fiji Market Visit Had to Be Cut Short

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are just over a week into their 16-day royal tour visiting Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand. After spending their evening at a state dinner in Fiji, looking like a couple straight out of a fairy tale, Meghan started the following day with a solo trip to the popular Suva market.

However, Meghan was only able to stay in the market for a short while. The trip, which was meant to last 15 minutes, was cut short, reportedly due to concerns over security. The speculation is that the volume of people in the market was too much of a risk. Meghan's bodyguard was on hand to help her through the market and manage the crowds, but after meeting some of the locals, her team decided to call it a day.

Some tweets from the public complained that they've seen "busier markets," and some were unconvinced that her leaving was necessary. However, she is a duchess, after all, and a pregnant one at that. Safety comes first, particularly if you're part of the royal household.
