The Touching Reason People Are Comparing Meghan Markle's Latest Outing to Princess Diana
It looks like Meghan Markle is taking a page out of Princess Diana's handbook. While members of the royal family, like Queen Elizabeth II, have been known to wear gloves while shaking hands at events, Meghan recently decided to go against royal protocol during a recent appearance in Bristol, England, on Friday. Despite the frigid temperatures (it was literally snowing, you guys), Meghan opted not to wear gloves as she shook hands with people in the crowd.
Following her appearance, people couldn't help but draw comparisons to Princess Diana, who also opted not to wear gloves when greeting people. "She abandoned the royal protocol of wearing gloves because she liked to hold hands when visiting people or shake hands and have direct contact," Eleri Lynn, the curator of an exhibit on Princess Diana's style, previously told People about the late royal. In fact, part of the reason Diana stopped wearing wide-brimmed hats was because it made it harder to greet and hug her young admirers.
This certainly isn't the first time Meghan has paid tribute to her mother-in-law. In addition to wearing some of Diana's jewellery, she has also dressed like the royal from time to time.
