Michelle Obama and Meghan Markle Meet For the First Time

Michelle Obama and Meghan Markle Finally Met, and THIS Is What They Discussed

Name a more iconic duo than Michelle Obama and Meghan Markle . . . I'll wait. The former first lady is promoting her memoir Becoming, and we patiently awaited her tour stop in London and kept our fingers crossed that it would result in a meeting with the Duchess of Sussex. Well, royal-fanatics, our prayers have finally been answered, and it feels like a global summit of badass, empowering ladies. According to People, Meghan stopped by Michelle's engagement at the Southbank Centre on Monday, where they met for the first time and spent time conversing privately.

"They spoke at length about the importance of supporting and empowering women across all cultures and communities," People reported. "They also talked about shared experiences of pregnancy and raising children, plus shared causes including girls' education." I've never wanted to be a fly on the wall so badly during a conversation!

Michelle and Meghan's power gathering came after Michelle offered advice for the mom-to-be in an interview with Good Housekeeping. "Like me, Meghan probably never dreamed that she'd have a life like this, and the pressure — from yourself and from others — can sometimes feel like a lot," Michelle revealed in the recent interview. "So my biggest advice would be to take some time and don't be in a hurry to do anything."

The Obama family was especially close with the British royal family during Barack Obama's time in office, and have remained close since — Prince Harry even interviewed Barack last year! The meeting between these two powerhouse females has us hoping for a friendship filled with parenting advice, marriage advice, and some hilarious text exchanges. Just don't forget to include us in that group chat, OK?
