Michelle Obama Surprises a Group of High School Girls, and Now My Eyes Are Sweating

Leave it to Michelle Obama to walk into a room and instantly reduce those in it to happy tears. That was recently the case for a group of high school students when they received a surprise visit from the former first lady during what they probably thought was just a regular field trip. O, The Oprah Magazine published a YouTube video on Tuesday that shows the 30 young women being given a tour of the publisher's Manhattan headquarters before sitting down in a conference room to watch a video of Obama being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey. The surprise occurs at about two minutes in, when the lady of the hour casually strolls into the room while the girls are analysing the video and sharing their thoughts about it with one another. Not surprisingly, within seconds of her arrival, the waterworks started.

And of course this wouldn't be a Michelle Obama moment if she didn't take a few minutes to drop some gems. After getting over their initial shock, the girls were able to ask the Becoming author some questions about her journey in politics and the near-decade she spent in the White House.
