Mindy Kaling Jokes Stephen Colbert's Baby Gift "Straight Up Sucks" Compared to Oprah's

Apologies to Stephen Colbert, but did he really think he was going to be able to out-gift Oprah? The talk show host recently had Mindy Kaling on as a guest, where she couldn't help but admit that when it comes to baby gifts, Oprah reigns supreme. Apparently Stephen sent the Champions actress "very nice" and "very old-fashioned" baby clothes for her 2-month-old daughter, Katherine, from his home town in South Carolina, which didn't hold a candle to her A Wrinkle in Time costar's custom bookshelf.

"It straight up sucks compared to what Oprah gave me. And I mean that with love, OK?" she joked during her Thursday night appearance on The Late Show. "If I'm crossing the Titanic with my baby, hoping for a new future for myself, this is the outfit I put her in. There's a black and white photo of me and my baby, hoping for a new [life]."

While old-timey baby clothes sound pretty damn cute, if we're being honest, Oprah's elaborate, hand-carved bookshelf filled with classic books for Mindy's daughter is next level. Clearly Stephen will just have to coordinate with her next time.
