What We Wouldn't Give to Be a Fly on the Wall as Prince Charles Cracks Up While Talking to Tom Hiddleston
Prince Charles paid a visit to the British Film Institute on Thursday to celebrate his 40 years as patron. Unsurprisingly, this royal visit brought out some very famous fans, with the likes of David Oyelowo, Ruth Wilson, and Hayley Atwell lining up for their moment with the future king. He definitely seemed to be a hit: David took to Instagram to explain how the Prince's Trust paid for him to join a youth theatre as a teenager, so "Charles holds a special place in my heart". Hayley, meanwhile, commented on how flustered she was to be in the company of royalty, joking that she was "just staring and smiling at HRH rather wildly."
One star who seemed to be right at ease was Tom Hiddleston, who was spotted laughing with Charles at they chatted at the event. Tom's no stranger to royalty: he's met the Queen, and was a student at Eton at the same time as Prince William, so it's possible he'd crossed paths with Charles before, too. Perhaps on this occasion, the prince was jokingly telling Tom off for breaking protocol when he met the Duchess of Cornwall. Tom famously cuddled up to Camilla when they met, but she didn't seem to mind, and is said to be a huge fan of The Night Manager. It seems Charles is too, as it's rumoured he told Tom he enjoyed the show "very much" as they chatted. Perhaps we should look out for a royal theatre visit soon, as Tom's set to tread the boards in London in 2019.
