Happy birthday, Meghan Markle [1]! Aug. 4 marked the duchess's 37th birthday [2], so how did she celebrate her first birthday as a royal? Well, she served as Prince Harry's date to pals Charlie Van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks's wedding. On Saturday, the Duchess of Sussex was all smiles as she stepped out in Surrey, England. Meghan looked gorgeous as usual in a pleated dress and chic hat. Princess Eugenie of York and Jack Brooksbank, who are set to tie the knot this Fall [3], were also spotted making their way into the church.
Harry and Prince William have been friends with Charlie and his older brother Thomas [4] since they first met at Ludgrove Prep School [5] when they were kids. Thomas is also a godfather to Princess Charlotte [6].
Even though Meghan spent her birthday as a guest at a wedding this year, something tells us that Harry probably had something special up his sleeve. For Meghan's birthday last year, the prince whisked her away to Botswana [8] for a safari holiday. Not only that, but let's not forget that it is also the first time the couple are celebrating Meghan's birthday as husband and wife.
