Listen, getting baptised is hard work, and sometimes you just need a nap before the sacrament. Prince Louis proved this fact when he arrived at his own christening [1] on Monday in London, snoozing soundly in the arms of his mom, Kate Middleton. Kate, clad in a bespoke Alexander McQueen ensemble [2], held on to her sleepy 3-month old son as they greeted the Archbishop of Canterbury at the Chapel Royal on the grounds of St. James's Palace. At one point, the duchess even quipped, "I hope he stays like this."
Louis's ceremony was nearly identical to the christenings of his older siblings [4], Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who stayed close to Prince William on their way into the church. Louis is fifth in line for the throne, after his sister Charlotte [5] and before his Uncle Harry, who was in attendance at his christening along with Meghan Markle [6], the newly appointed Duchess of Sussex. Meghan and Harry held hands as they arrived at the church behind Kate, William, and their kids. Also in attendance were Louis's other aunt and uncle, Pippa and James Middleton, but missing from the action were Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, who announced shortly before that they would not be present at the christening [7]. Louis likely didn't notice their absence because, you know, he was sleeping.
