Prince Louis Wore Royal Hand-Me-Downs to Trooping the Colour, Like a True Youngest Child

09/06/2019 - 10:30 AM

Prince Louis had us wrapped around his tiny little fingers when he made his Trooping the Colour debut [1] on Saturday — in his Uncle Harry's hand-me-downs, no less! The adorable one-year-old royal waved his way [2] right into our hearts on the balcony of Buckingham palace, wearing a blue-and-white outfit that bears a striking resemblance to clothes Prince Harry and Prince William wore around the same age.

Harry wore the collared shirt and shorts during his second Trooping the Colour [3], as shown by a throwback photo from 1986. In the picture, he's held by Princess Anne, as his mother Princess Diana stands in the background. William also wore the outfit in 1984 [4], when he departed an aeroplane with his father, Prince Charles.

This is far from the first time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's kids have been seen re-wearing clothes from the royal wardrobes. Princess Charlotte sported a pair of Harry's shiny red shoes [5] back in 2017 and Prince George made his own Buckingham balcony debut [6] in an outfit previously worn by William. Hand-me-downs still run in the family [7], even if you're in line for the throne [8]!
