Prince William Gets Stuck In as He Makes a Royal Appearance on DIY SOS

Prince William on DIY SOS

Back in May, Prince William was photographed visiting workers who were building a new community centre in London, on the site of a boxing club that was destroyed during the tragic Grenfell Tower fire in June 2017. Now, footage of the visit has been released, ahead of a special edition of the BBC One show DIY SOS.

In the clip, William is seen chatting to the show's host, Nick Knowles, on the site of the project, which was made possible thanks to hundreds of volunteers who gave their time and skills to support the West London community that was devastated by the fire.

It's not the first time the future king has appeared on the show. In 2015, William and his brother, Prince Harry, made an appearance on another special episode filmed in Manchester, where a derelict street was being renovated to become homes for veterans. "I thought after Manchester you wouldn't ask me back!" William joked as he greeted the host, who did admit, "after your last appearance, there was quite a lot of comment on social media about your painting skills."

However, William seems completely at home as he grabs a roller and gets stuck in. You'll be able to see the full episode when it airs on BBC One tonight at 9 p.m, but keep reading for a look behind the scenes.
