It's been 40 years since we said goodbye to Elvis Presley [1], but Priscilla Presley is making sure he's never forgotten. Priscilla — who was married to Elvis from 1967 to 1973 [2] — is currently working on a two-part documentary about his life titled Elvis Presley: The Searcher, and on Wednesday, she stopped by The Today Show to discuss the project. Not only did she say the film will give fans "answers" to questions surrounding Elvis's life and work, but she also reflected on what attending his funeral [3] on Aug. 16, 1977 was like.

"I was still shocked. It was just too hard to believe," Priscilla said. "You'd see glimpses, you'd see people crying, hysterical, fainting, and that's how impactful it was and still to this day." Back in August 2017, Priscilla revealed that their daughter, Lisa Marie, actually found about Elvis's death [4] before she did. "I don't think it resonated with her yet, the impact that had just happened because she was so young," she said. "[I lost] everything. You have to remember, he was such an impact in my life, in every way. He was my mentor, he was my confidant."
