Quincy Jones Issues an Iconic Apology For His "Word Vomit" in Recent Interviews

22/02/2018 - 11:05 PM

In case you somehow missed it, music legend Quincy Jones recently participated in a completely unbelievable interview [1] with Vulture and another with GQ [2]. In just two short stories, Quincy posited that he dated Ivanka Trump, that Paul McCartney is a terrible bass player, and that Marlon Brando slept with Richard Pryor. And that's really just scratching the surface. Now, two weeks later, Quincy has come forward with a heartfelt apology, which he posted in full on his Twitter account [3]. "I am an imperfect human & I'm not afraid to say it," he wrote. "And I'm sorry & I'm not afraid to say it."

Somehow, Quincy has managed to come forth with something equally as enthralling as the interviews themselves. He cites a "family intervention" set up by his six daughters that helped him see the error of his ways and claims he was trying to relay very real messages about "racism, inequality, homophobia, poverty . . . you name it." He also calls himself "an 85-year-old bow-legged man who is still learning from his mistakes" and ends the apology with what I can only assume is a gasping face. Quincy Jones has always been a music legend, but now he's a no-filter icon as well. We couldn't possibly be more blessed.
