Why Reign Is About to Become Your Netflix Guilty Pleasure
We were always disappointed that no UK TV channel picked up Reign. The CW drama puts a highly fictionalised, glamourised spin on the life of Mary, Queen of Scots. If you ever studied the Tudors and Stuarts in primary school history lessons, she's probably best known to you as a villainous schemer who was eventually executed after plotting to murder Queen Elizabeth I. But in Reign, she's a young and beautiful heroine, married to the heir to the French crown, and constantly battling against plots and schemes from England and beyond, all whilst wearing more jewellery than most of us will own in a lifetime. Now that Netflix has picked up the show in the UK, we finally have a chance to see the other side of the story we learned as kids, even if it is all totally made up.
