It's been nearly three years since Rihanna [1] has blessed the world with a new album, but it looks like we can expect brand new music from the singer sooner than we think. On Saturday afternoon, Rihanna took to Instagram to share a promotional image for Fenty Beauty [2] when she seemingly confirmed her plans to release a new album next year. In response to a fan's comment asking for an album release date, the "Work" singer's response was simple: "2019," she wrote. She didn't specify exactly when the album is set to drop, but the response alone was enough to send the internet into a frenzy.

To say that 2018 has been a busy year for Rihanna would be an understatement. The singer appeared in Ocean's 8 [5] earlier this year before launching her Savage x Fenty lingerie collection [6] in September at New York Fashion Week. She's also set to star opposite Donald Glover [7] in the new film Guava Island [8]. Rihanna's new project next year will be her first album since the release of "ANTI" in 2016.
