Prince Charles Visits His Grandson and Hints at His Public Debut
Both sets of the royal baby's grandparents paid a visit to the newborn at St. Mary's Hospital in London today. Kate Middleton's parents, Carole Middleton and Michael Middleton, were the first visitors to see the royal baby. While leaving the hospital after a short visit, the Middletons paused in front of the press to say a few words. Carole said, "He's absolutely beautiful. We're so thrilled." They also noted that both parents are "doing well," but when asked if she knew the name of the baby, she replied, "Absolutely not."
After the Middletons had left, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, paid a visit to the Lindo Wing after wrapping up their royal engagements in Yorkshire. While entering the hospital, Charles hinted to reporters that they will see Kate, William, and the baby soon. He said, "You wait and see. You'll see in a minute." Camilla had previously commented on her husband becoming a new granddad, saying, "It's wonderful for the grandfather. He's brilliant with children so he'll have a wonderful time."
