London Fashion Week has just come to an end, and to help you get the look before anyone else, we've deciphered some of the key trends for next season and found the ways to work them into your wardrobe now.
Blue everything: Royal blue reigned on the catwalks this season. Be it in glitzy, glamorous style a la Julien McDonald, or in a more articulate way on Peter Pilotto's runway, the primary colour is here to stay. Dissolving into various softer shades for Winter, including icy blue, the cold colour has never worn a more appropriate name.
Earthy textures: It all started with the return of earthy colours, and now that fashion has opened a bit more to experimentation, fully embracing textures and three-dimensional patterns, it's nice to see the likes of JW Anderson, Burberry and Felder Felder jump on that trend wagon. Copy the look for yourself with textured accessories, chunky knits and tactile fabrics.
Patchwork: With the spread of mixing and matching, it was only a matter of time before we witnessed the return of our grandma's favourite trend: patchwork. The mis-matched look gets a fresh update for next season as showcased by Holly Fulton, Henry Holland and Erdem. Think subtle layers of texture and appliqué or contrast pockets or sleeves, rather than the old-fashioned fabric squares!
