Hollywood's hottest actors, directors, and more ascended on the 90th annual Academy Awards red carpet [5] on Sunday, and even before the show started, Timothée Chalamet had a jaw-dropping moment. As he walked the red carpet as a first time Oscar-nominee, he stopped to talk with ABC's corespondent Michael Strahan and Michael had a surprise up his sleeve.

Timothée was clearly in awe at his first Oscars — he brought his adorable mother as his date [6]. Michael decided to show him a video from the actor's teacher and mentor Henry Schiffman, and his reaction was priceless. In case you don't know, Timothée, who is nominated for best actor for his role in Call Me By My Name, attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in New York City, so it's only fitting that his former mentor Henry and some of the school's current students share some words of wisdom . . . mainly, "just breathe."

The sweet message caused Timothée to almost break into tears [7] after being so touched by everyone's support and now we love him even more.

"That is really, that's very moving. Wow," Timothée told Michael on the carpet. "I would literally not be acting without that man, without that school, without public arts funding and literally that man who was just in that video, he fought for me to get into that school."

The 22-year-old actor's [8] reaction was so pure and sweet and you can tell he was truly touched that his mentor and the students who were once just like him would take the time to make him a congratulatory video. "I would not be at the Oscars, I wouldn't be nominated without him. Shout out to LaGuardia and everybody in that video," he concluded.

We love Timothée and couldn't be more excited for the young star!
