Victoria and David Beckham famously tied the knot in July 1999 after the former football player set his sights on the fashion designer at a hotel. Even though it's been 19 years since they exchanged "I dos," the affair still remains one of the most lavish celebrity weddings to date. Between the his-and-her gold thrones and the matching outfits, David and Victoria's nuptials could have easily passed for a royal wedding.

The nuptials reportedly cost a whopping £600,000. The wedding took place at Ireland's Luttrellstown Castle on July 4, 1999. People described it as a mock-royal union because of its extravagance.
An estimated 230 guests flew to Dublin for the big day. David's Manchester United teammates Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, and Dwight Yorke were all on hand for the event, as well as Elton John, who was initially scheduled to play but had a heart attack that prevented him from doing so.
They did not have a wedding registry. The couple asked for shopping vouchers in lieu of wedding gifts.

The wedding was held out of the sight of press cameras. Squads of security guards were hired to keep prying eyes and camera lenses from gaining unwanted access to the castle. Victoria and David sold the exclusive rights to their photos to OK! Magazine for an undisclosed amount.
It was a lavish affair. Their wedding featured rose petals on purple carpets, fireworks, flower girls dressed as angels, his-and-her gold thrones, and a cake topped with a nearly nude sculpture of the newlyweds. A single white dove was also released as a symbol of the couple's love.

David and Victoria wore not one but two matching outfits. For the ceremony, David channeled Prince Charming in an ivory suit, while Victoria looked like a princess in a satin Vera Wang gown complete with a 20-foot train and an 18-carat gold crown designed by jeweller Slim Barrett. The pair, along with 4-month-old Brooklyn, later changed into purple ensembles, which David has since come to regret. "That was pretty bold. Victoria's was pretty nice. Mine, I'm like, 'What was I thinking?' I look like the guys out of Dumb & Dumber when they went to that party and wore those ridiculous outfits. I even had a top hat in purple. Unbelievable. What was I thinking?" he told Vanity Fair in January 2017.
They jetted off to a tropical location for their honeymoon. After the wedding, David and Victoria headed to Bora Bora. They also enjoyed a second honeymoon in the South of France shortly after.
