Knowing what Bradley Cooper said to Lady Gaga [1] before their now-viral Oscars performance of "Shallow" [2] makes it that much better. On Sunday, Lady Gaga headed to the press room [3] after her momentous night [4], and she shared the sweet piece of advice Bradley gave her before their last rehearsal.
She tied it into her response when someone asked if she had any advice [5] for Australian members of the LBGTQ+ community during Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which continues through the beginning of March. "What I would like to say is one of the hardest things in life is to be brave enough to be yourself," Gaga said. "I wish to everyone that is going to that celebration to feel a joy inside of them. That's actually what Bradley said to me yesterday, right before we did our last rehearsal for this performance of 'Shallow.' He said, 'Let's just drop a little bit of joy.' And I said, 'OK.' And it turns out joy did a lot to me."
Well, Bradley, that was great advice, because they dropped a lot of joy, indeed [6]. We hope Marie Kondo, who also attended the Oscars [7], agrees.
