Where Did Kit Harington and Rose Leslie Get Married?

Kit and Rose's Wedding Venue Is Straight Out of Game of Thrones

The Game of Thrones family was reunited for a wedding — but luckily it wasn't the infamous Red Wedding this time. Kit Harington and Rose Leslie (better known in our hearts as star-crossed lovers Jon Snow and Ygritte) recently got married in Scotland, and we haven't decided if we're sadder that we can't marry either of them now, or simply that we didn't score an invite.

The ceremony took place at Rayne Parish Church in the village of Kirkton of Rayne in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, which was built in the late 18th century and is adorably quaint.

But before you go thinking that the pair kept their nuptials casual, Kit and Rose were whisked off in a Land Rover to the reception, which was held at the ever-so-casual 12th-century castle that has been in Rose's family for the last nine centuries. Picture Winterfell before it was burnt down.

Wardhill Castle — which features towers, turrets, and a 700-acre estate with views of the Bennachie Hills — is a cooler venue than anything we could have imagined as kids planning our dream wedding. Rose's brother and his wife live in the nine-bedroom property all year round, apparently unfazed by the bed from the Queen of Spain, the centuries-old trunks, and the curtains from the Paris embassy. The estate also boasts a coffee table crafted from a historic family tree, which we're pretty sure George R.R. Martin nabbed to create his Chamber of the Painted Table at Dragonstone.

If you're still searching for a perfect wedding venue, Wardhill Castle is available to rent for celebrations for the surprisingly manageable cost of £2,500 per night during prime wedding season. If you book it, please let us know — we're inviting ourselves.
