We could never choose a favourite cast member, but Tan France, wardrobe extraordinaire, is one of the reasons we love the series so much! Not only does the fashion guru give useful, genuine advice that contributes to each man's transformation — including the internet's beloved Tom [3] — but he's also a total sweetheart with an amazing on-camera presence. Believe it or not, he wasn't always comfortable being onscreen, let alone cohosting a show. Get to know a little bit more about the most stylish Queer Eye team player.

- Tan is a fashion designer and studied fashion at Doncaster College.

- He didn't always dress so well. "My boyfriend dumped me [12] because I let myself go," Tan told Time.
- Tan gets a lot of questions about his accent [13], and he says it's a "split between London, Yorkshire, and Manchester."
- He auditioned for Queer Eye [14] knowing that he "really wanted to make some gay friends," but he wasn't as comfortable on camera as you might think. "I wasn't really feeling a TV show; I didn't want to be famous!" he told W magazine. He added, "I haven't seen it since it dropped on Netflix just because I find it very uncomfortable watching myself on the show!"
