Sam Elliott is one of those actors who seems like he's been around forever and has been in pretty much everything. A veteran character actor [1], Elliott is a first-time Oscar nominee [2] this year, nominated for best supporting actor for his work on the musical drama [3] A Star Is Born [4]. Elliott has been easily recognisable onscreen for decades, with his slightly grizzled look and often a rather expressive mustache that wouldn't be out of place in a Western film (and has been in plenty of them).
