Adam Rippon Announces He's Engaged to Jussi-Pekka Kajaala: "He's Just the Best"

Adam Rippon is getting married! On Wednesday, the Olympic figure skater announced that he and his boyfriend, Jussi-Pekka Kajaala, got engaged during a recent trip to Jussi-Pekka's home country of Finland. "JP and I didn't get to see each other for almost all of 2020 because of the pandemic. When there was finally a chance for me to go and see him in Finland, I jumped at it," he wrote on Instagram. After spending two months together, Adam said that they decided to buy rings and say that "magic word," "duh!"

The couple first started dating in 2018 after meeting on Tinder. In a statement to People, Adam further gushed about Jussi-Pekka, saying, "I'm excited to marry JP because he's just the best. He's kind, he's funny, and he's just as beautiful on the inside as he is on the out (which is a lot). He's my cheerleader and I'm his. I just love him a lot." Congrats to the happy couple on their engagement.
