Heartbreak might be the central theme of many of Adele's songs, but the 34-year-old is making no secret of her romance with sports agent Rich Paul. The couple had been friends for some time before going public with their relationship in July 2021 and buying a Beverly Hills mansion together this year. And she got candid about her love life as she starred on the September cover of Elle magazine. "I've never been in love like this. I'm obsessed with him," she gushed.

Adele credited Paul with encouraging her to live her life and stop avoiding things because of her fame. After revealing she wanted to holiday in Italy but was nervous of cameras, "He was like, 'You would let that stop you from going to the place that you most want to go on vacation?'" she detailed. "He's like, 'For one photograph, what's the worst that can happen?'" And so the happy couple jetted off to Porto Cervo, Italy, in July for a well-earned getaway.

The couple were rumoured to be engaged after the "Hello" singer was spotted with a giant diamond on her finger at the Brits, but she denied the speculation. "I'm just in loooove! I'm happy as I'll ever be. I might as well be married," she apparently sang during the interview. She later clarified: "I'm not engaged. I just love high-end jewelry, boy!" Adele has been open about her desire to have more kids to join her blended family with son Angelo, whom she shares with ex-husband Simon Konecki, and Paul's three kids from a previous relationship. "I'm a homemaker and I'm a matriarch, and a stable life helps me with my music."

While Adele's personal life has been progressing nicely, her 2022 got off to a tumultuous start as she cancelled her Las Vegas residency just one day before it was due to begin. "There was just no soul in it," she told Elle. She bravely made the executive decision to postpone the show to make it the best it could be but was faced with disappointment and criticism from fans who had spent money on tickets. "It was the worst moment in my career, by far," she said. She deleted Twitter and "went into hiding" after making the "brutal" announcement.

In July, she took to social media to inform fans that "Weekends With Adele" at the Colosseum at Las Vegas's Caesars Palace casino hotel will kick off on 18 Nov 2022. "I'm very proud of myself for standing by my artistic needs," she told Elle. She added that her brain is now consumed with the upcoming show: "I wanna f*cking nail it."

The residency follows her epic Hyde Park shows — her first concerts in five years — and gave her the bug for performing live again. "London crowds are the best," she said. Amen to that!
