Alex Rodriguez Says He's "Grateful" For the "Incredible" Years He and Jennifer Lopez Shared

Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez may have split, but the former Yankees pro is continuing to focus on "all of the positive" things in life — and the experiences he gained from their relationship. During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Alex opened up about what the last year has meant to him.

"I had five years of an incredible life and partnership and also with my daughters, we learned so much," Alex said. He's "grateful" for the years he and Jennifer shared and asks himself: "How do we make the next five years better because of lessons learned?" Alex is in a "great place" and "looking forward" to the future with his daughters, Natasha, 16, and Ella, 13, in mind.

Alex and Jennifer announced the end of their engagement in March. "We have realised we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so," they said in a joint statement. "We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another's children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support." Neither Alex nor Jennifer has publicly addressed the reason behind their split. Jennifer has since rekindled her romance with Ben Affleck.
