Brad Pitt Surprises Grads With an Encourageing Video Message: "We're Rooting For You"

19/05/2020 - 07:38 PM

Brad Pitt can now add commencement speaker to his ever-growing résumé. After trying his hand at weather reporting [1] on John Krasinski's Some Good News and channelling his inner Dr. Anthony Fauci [2] on Saturday Night Live, the 56-year-old actor continued his spree of surprise cameos when he delivered a special message to the graduating class of Missouri State University. On Monday, the college posted an Instagram clip of the Springfield native sharing some inspiring words with the class of 2020.

"Our money's on you to make this world a better place."

"It must be very strange doing this in these trying times, but know, we're rooting for you. Our money's on you to make this world a better place," Brad said. "And we wish you all the best in your future endeavours. You did it, you made it! Enjoy, congrats again, and think big!"

Of course, Brad isn't the only star celebrating the class of 2020. As in-person graduation ceremonies continue getting postponed or cancelled in response to the coronavirus pandemic, stars have been coming together for virtual graduations. Just last week, Facebook and Instagram hosted the star-studded #Graduation2020 event [3], which included appearances by Cardi B, Selena Gomez, and Oprah Winfrey. Similarly, over the weekend, LeBron James teamed up with a bunch of other celebrities [4] for the Graduate Together ceremony to honour high school seniors. Regardless of whether you're graduating this year or not, we could all use these encourageing messages during these trying times.
